WHEN AND WHERE IS IT?
Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at 3 PM, right here at our farm in Romulus, Michigan.
WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN?
We are going to eat, drink, and be merry! Festivities will center around a fantastic pig & tofu roast. The pig will come from our farm, and the rest of the food will be vegetarian/vegan friendly! We also plan to have music, dancing, games, beer, hayrides, and tree planting as we complete the first phase of our agroforestry project.

There will be a blink-and-you'll-miss-it-short wedding ceremony immediately before serving the BBQ, which we hope to do around 4:00 pm.

Tentative Program
3:00 -- Opening reception. Get settled, grab a beer or pop, mingle, and enjoy self-guided tours of the farm or a hayride to the forest and back.
3:50 -- Gather between barn and machine shed for wedding ceremony.
4:00 -- Brief wedding ceremony so that Kim doesn't cry too much
4:15 -- Tree planting and farm parade with Rhyta Musik, Ann Arbor's premier Balkan Funk brass band
4:45 -- BBQ!
5:45 -- Toast
6:00 -- More eating, dancing, hayrides, and fun!
9:00 -- Party winds down
HOW SHOULD I GET THERE?
We are located just a couple miles south of Detroit Metro Airport, so flying in is an easy option! You can also drive -- we should have plenty of space for parking. If we have multiple guests at the same hotel, we can arrange for a shuttle or Uber service.
WHERE SHOULD I STAY?
Thanks to our location near the airport, there is a wide range of hotels within a few miles of our place, from budget to four star!
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn Detroit Metro Airport. To reserve, call 1-800-HILTONS or visit detroitmetroairport.gardeninn.com and use GROUP CODE: BWGW. Reservations must be made by 9/19/18 for these rates.
Single king bed: $89
Double queen beds: $99
King suite: $109

Please let us know when you RSVP if you are interested in a more economical option, and we will set up another block at an alternate hotel. For those on a limited budget, we can accommodate at least 6 on our spare beds and futons. We also have plenty of space for camping and tents!
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
This is going to be a casual and laid back event. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, but keep in mind that this is a farm -- this probably is not the time for designer clothes and Louboutin heels! Etiquette suggests that you should not wear white to a wedding in order to not upstage the bride; in this case we suggest not wearing white because you will get dirt and/or BBQ sauce on it.
ARE KIDS WELCOME?
Yes! Kids, dogs, friends -- just give us a heads up!
WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?
If it's rainy we will have our event in the barns (three of them, close together). If it's cold, we will rent those outdoor gas heater things that you see at restaurants.

We will keep an eye on the weather forecast and send updates in the days before the wedding with recommendations on how warm to dress, but we suggest packing layers. Late October in Michigan usually means highs in the low 50's; on average, October is not a particularly rainy month but it is impossible to predict for any specific date.
HOW SHOULD I RSVP?
You can RSVP via the Evite invitation you should have received, by emailing dtwflightpath@gmail.com, or by calling (206) 992-5075. Please make sure to let us know how many people will be in your party (including the number of kids), if you have any dietary restrictions, and if you need assistance in finding accommodations. If you use the RSVP system in Evite, there is a poll where you can answer these questions.
WHAT ABOUT GIFTS?
Your presence is our present. We're old, so we already have all the stuff that is traditionally gifted to a couple getting married! If you truly wish to give us a gift, then please consider one of the following options:
A donation in our name to the conservation nonprofit Paso PacÃfico -- click here and then click on the red button in the upper right that says "DONATE"
A contribution to our reforestation fund -- we are planting most trees in spring 2018 but will plant the remainder as part of our wedding celebration. You can reach our GoFundMe page by clicking clicking here or on the button below.
