Visiting as a Volunteer or Guest
STAYING ON OUR FARM
WORKSTAYS
Hands-On Learning
There is always work to be done on a farm! We are eager to provide work opportunities in exchange for room and board (for long term visitors) or food from our farm (for a day's worth of work). Work studies on our farm are similar to WWOOF internships. We are particularly interested in having students associated with University of Michigan's Sustainable food Systems Initiative stay with us for a work study experience that reinforces their academic programs.
FIELD TRIPS AND WORKSHOPS
Shorter Visits for Large Groups
On our farm, we regularly undertake a variety of activities associated with sustainable agriculture, investigations of wildlife and forest ecology, and low-impact living. We have built rocket mass heaters, produced biochar, establish vegetation survey plots, conducted citizen science bird surveys, and more! We are always eager to provide learning experiences for our community. During warmer months, large groups can do overnight camp stays as well.
STAYING AS A GUEST
AirBnb Guest House
When we don't have interns in residence, we rent our upstairs rooms out to visitors from all walks of life. Often these are people from Michigan communities looking for a weekend getaway, or staying for a night before an early flight (we are less than 10 minutes from the Delta terminal). To learn more or book a stay, please check out our listing on AirBnb.
